What is ResetLife Adult?
ResetLife Adult is a free program that helps people aged 18 and over who struggle with alcohol and other drug issues.
The program is split into two main parts:
Groups (three months)
This is the first part of the program, where you come to groups three times a week. The groups are made up of other people at different points in their ResetLife Adult journeys, and our friendly staff. Our staff include Peer Workers – people who have been through experiences with alcohol and other drugs too.
The groups help you grow in three main areas:
- Early recovery skills – This is about how you can make healthy choices around drinking and drugs, understanding your feelings and building a roadmap towards the life you want.
- Relapse prevention – Learning to know when alcohol and drugs may be a problem, and how you can stay on track.
- Family education – Working with family, if you choose, to help them support your goals.
At the end of each client’s three-month program, we celebrate how far they have come. This means getting together for a special celebration, having some fun and reflecting on accomplishments.
“There’s nothing better than hearing someone else is going through or has been through what you’re going through, and they’re out the other side.”

Continuing Care (36 weeks)
“Continuing care is where graduates can get together with our Peer Workers, talk things through, and do something fun.” – ResetLife Manager
After you graduate from ResetLife Adult, you still have our support.
The Continuing Care phase goes for up to 36 weeks (about eight months).
It’s a time where you can come back and talk things through with our Peer Workers, to get support for whatever you’re going through at the time.
This helps you avoid harm from alcohol and drugs, and keep working towards your goals.
How can ResetLife Adult help me?
ResetLife Adult is a new beginning for life without alcohol and other drugs.
Alongside groups, you’ll also have one-on-one support (including counselling) from a staff member who gets to know you well, called a Primary Therapist.
We also offer sessions with your family, so that we can help strengthen relationships and make sure they understand your recovery and the journey you’re on.
We create a space that is welcoming and safe and where you can be yourself.
Groups and Continuing Care can help in many ways, including:
- Spending time with Peer Workers who have been in your shoes before
- Creating healthy, strong connections with other people
- Connecting you with help for whatever you’re facing – such as mental health, problems at home, school or with the law
- Strengthening families
- Giving you the chance to try new things, including Art Therapy and group fitness.
ResetLife Adult group members also help each other make progress. This is a rewarding experience too and helps build your confidence.
