About the program

PIVOT works with young people aged 10 – 23 to increase protective factors, community connectedness and sustained engagement in school, training and employment.

We help you through intensive case management, working with you to build your skills, relationships and community connections, and helping you linking you in with supports and services that can help you reach your goals. 

We also work with your family to make sure they have the tools and resources available they need, as well as access to any additional supports.

PIVOT works with you in three ways:

Case work

  • Meet immediate needs
  • Develop motivation for change
  • Create realistic plans
  • Build efficacy and self-esteem
  • Support new skills and relationships

Case coordination

  • Coordinate services effectively
  • Link participants to services and resources
  • Advocate for young people and their families

Family inclusive practice

  • Single session family meetings
  • Coaching and problem solving
  • Facilitate service links
  • Encourage help seeking behaviour

Eligibility and referral

PIVOT is delivered in the Cities of Greater Dandenong, Casey and Frankston.

A voluntary program, participants are young people aged 10 – 23 who are in frequent contact with statutory services (Victoria Police, Youth Justice, Community Correctional Services and/or Child Protection).

Referrals for PIVOT can only be made through Victoria Police, Youth Justice or Community Correctional Services.

 

PIVOT is led by YSAS, and ran in partnership with Jesuit Social Services, Mission Australia and Kids First Australia.

PIVOT is supported by the Victorian Government.
