CEO Update – August 2017
Dear Friends and Supporters of Windana,
Welcome to our latest newsletter that we create to connect and share stories of our people, our work, the impact of what we do and breaking news from the wider treatment sector. I am delighted to update you on some major developments over the winter months.
This week Windana has been announced as the operator of a new 20 bed residential rehabilitation facility in the Grampians region. Currently people who need alcohol and other drug (AOD) residential rehabilitation must travel to Bendigo or Melbourne to access treatment. This facility has been funded as part of the Victorian Government’s Ice Action Plan which addresses ice and other harmful drug use across the state.
The next few months will be incredibly exciting and challenging for us but we are prepared for this much needed lift in the availability of specialist treatment and care that will change people’s lives.
These regular newsletters will keep you informed as we move through this expansion and growth of Windana. Please do consider this as a communication channel for your feedback, queries and thoughts by sending us an ">email.
As you receive this newsletter, we will be one of 13 St Kilda based service providers coming together to mark International Overdose Awareness Day on 31 August. Sadly, the number of Australians aged between 30 – 59 we have lost to overdose has doubled and we share our thoughts for those of you with a particular reason to pause and remember a loved one on this important day. More details of the event along with all of our news is attached and I hope you find time to read.
Thank you for your continued support of Windana’s holistic recovery services.
Kind regards,
